We have been learning about Matariki (The Maori New Year celebration). We watched the telling of some legends on u-tube and learned how to do the Matariki Macarena. We really enjoyed using scraffito art to represent the night sky showing the seven sisters.
M8 is a fantastic Year 3/4 class in the Rua team at Rangiora Borough School. Mrs Leanne Adamson is privileged to be the teacher of this great group of young people. Our class motto is "In M8 it doesn't matter if we get it wrong, as long as we try!"

Aboriginal Art
The Rua team did some fun art during "Living World" Art interchange.
In M8's room we used Aboriginal Art to represent a reptile. We used the fat end of a skewer to make our dots. The dots needed to be the same size and spaced evenly apart.

Stanley the Skeleton
This term in M8 we have been 'thinking like a scientist' and have been studying biology, in particular the human body.
Meet Stanley. M8's skeleton. We had to put the major bones and the major organs in the right places.
